Every year, since its creation, Country Music France has designated an Artist of the Year. In addition to the Top Albums, Top EPs and Top songs, it’s an important way to reward an artist who standed out particularly all along the year on the country music scene.

In 2024, as it happened in 2018 and 2019, it’s a woman who is Country Music France’s artist of the year. As I said several times on this blog, Sierra Ferrell is a treasure of American music. The West Virginia native artist released last year a masterpiece, the wonderful LP, “Trail Of Flowers“. This album followed the acclaimed “Long Time Coming“, another masterpiece released in 2021.
Sierra Ferrell is not only a talented singer and songwriter and a virtuoso. Her fecund imagination and artistic freedom let her create powerful and refined songs full of poesy and oneiric lyrics. Her wonderful voice, highlighted by a music that is traditional and at the same time innovative, make her shine brightly.
Sierra Ferrell writes relatable songs about real life, and at the same time, the poignant lyrics and the way she sings them let us escape reality, giving us the illusion of flying high above in the clouds. Few artists have such capacity. For all these reasons, Sierra Ferrell is 2024 Country Music France’s artist of the year.
