With such a lot of brilliant country albums released this year, some great records had probably not all the success that they deserved. If 2023 would have been a “normal” year for country music, there’s absolutely no doubt that Scott Southworth’s new album would have been part of all the talks for best album of the year. And if we lived in a normal world, almost all the songs included in this album should be played on country radios and several of them would be country hits.
“Comin’ Round To Honky Tonk Again“, Scott Southworth’s fourth studio album after “The Last Honky Tonk in Town“, “Hey Hillbilly Singer!” and “These Old Bones“, was released on September 5th, via Flaming Tortuga Records.
Its twelve songs are all real country and heavy honky tonk, with beautiful pedal steel and amazing fiddle.

Among them, two songs are particularly outstanding, both written by Scott Southworth : “Just Fishing“, a beautiful and catchy song, with awesome fiddle, one of the best country songs released this year, in my opinion, and “Woman On My New Tatoo“, a brilliant song with fantastic pedal steel.
“Here Comes The Night“, beautifully written by Scott Southworth, is another fantastic song that enhances particularly Scott Southworth’s voice, a voice that fits perfectly with country music.
With “Granny Used To Honky Tonk“, you can enjoy a wonderful collaboration between Scott Southworth and Dallas Moore, who cowrote the song. The music video is particularly amazing.
“Country No Matter What Country“, written by Bill Whyte, is a great song performed by seven artists from seven different countries, including Glenn Mitchell (from UK), Andrea Benz (from Switzerland), Sivert Bjordal (from Norway), “Mr Jay” Desoteux (from France), Johnny Brady (from Ireland) and Kevin Greaves (from New Zealand).
“Everything I Ever Know “, written by Bill Whyte, and “Drinking For Two“, written by Heino Gerald Moeller, are two brilliant honky tonk songs, with perfect pedal steel. You can include them on your honky tonk playlists with your eyes closed.
The excellent title track, written by Scott Southworth, and the beautiful “Over Getting Over You Again“, with outstanding pedal steel, are also amazing songs.
Don’t miss the opportunity to listen to “Comin’ Round to Honky Tonk Again”, y’all, if you havent’t done it yet. I’m sure that you’ll soon have several songs of this brilliant album on repeat. A brilliant record!
